From the Scriptures

Only through Jesus can people be saved

Only through Jesus can people be saved

May the Lord bless you over the Christmas break as we remember God’s precious gift to us (Jesus), for “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” ( Acts 4:12 ).

May you all have a wonderful Christmas and a joyous start to the new year.

Blessings.

Celebrating Learning

Year 10 celebrate milestone with a memorable graduation dinner

Year 10 celebrate milestone with a memorable graduation dinner

Last Friday, the Year 10 Dinner brought the cohort together for a spectacular evening of fun and celebration at Rosehill Gardens, offering stunning views of the racecourse. The night featured heartfelt speeches from Principal Hartley, Head of Years 10-12 John Holbrook, and myself, highlighting the achievements and camaraderie of the year group.

A special moment of the evening was the presentation of awards, where students showed their appreciation for their homeroom teachers in a light-hearted and touching manner. With delicious food, laughter, and plenty of photo opportunities, the event was a perfect way to mark this milestone year.

Check out some of the highlights from the evening!

Year 10 students spread holiday cheer by packing over 100 boxes for Operation Christmas Child

Year 10 students recently demonstrated incredible generosity and initiative by packing over 100 shoeboxes for the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child .

Not only did they contribute items, but the students took the time to research and shop for the perfect items to include in each box, ensuring they met the needs of children around the world. This hands-on project was a meaningful way for students to engage in community service and make a positive impact this holiday season.

Peer Support leaders step up their hospitality & event management game during MADD Night

Peer Support leaders step up their hospitality & event management game during MADD Night

MADD Night is an exciting event where students in Year 9 and 10 from Music, Visual Design, Visual Arts, and Drama showcased their creative work to the school community.

This evening provided an excellent opportunity for our newly elected Peer Support leaders to step up and serve. These leaders assisted in hospitality and event management which allowed them to gain first hand experience on how to run a successful night for a school event. Each student did an outstanding job to proudly display their school values to the school community.

Take a look at their creative - and delicious - menu creations below!

Jessica's stunning artwork brings story to life in book illustration achievement

Jessica's stunning artwork brings story to life in book illustration achievement

We would like to share an exciting achievement by Jessica G (Year 8) who recently illustrated a children’s book, which is a remarkable accomplishment for someone her age.

"This is a wonderful example of her creativity and dedication, and I believe it deserves recognition within our school community. It might also inspire other students to pursue their passions", says Jessica's teacher Mrs Chinta.

"The Aliens' Medieval Adventure" is a fun, rhyming children's picture book that follows a group of aliens as they journey back to medieval times. With the help of a clever little mouse, they embark on an exciting adventure encountering a fox, a knight and a dragon just to name a few of the characters. It's packed with humour, vibrant illustrations, and engaging storytelling, this book is sure to captivate young readers and spark their imaginations.

"The Aliens' Medieval Adventure" paperback is now available on Amazon.com

Junior School Presentation Day

Junior School Presentation Day

On Wednesday, we came together for the Junior School Presentation Day assemblies. It was lovely to see students receiving their awards as their peers, families and teachers celebrated their achievements. I particularly love the way that the Presentation Day assemblies do not only celebrate the students who achieve at the top, but also students who have improved greatly, tried harder, or shown character, care and courage in their academic, sporting, musical, public speaking and service endeavours.

Congratulations to all our students!

Stage 1-2 Nativity & Christmas Services

Stage 1-2 Nativity & Christmas Services

It has been a big week of celebrations for the Junior School. The week started with a beautiful retelling of the Christmas Story by Stage 1 students. Parents, Kindergarten students and teachers watched in wonder as these students joyfully shared the story of the good news of Jesus’ birth.

Year 3 to 6 students also joined in a Christmas event where Mrs Haggar talked about the importance of Christmas and taught us a song on her ukulele that captures why Christmas is celebrated every year.

Year 6 Graduation Dinner

Year 6 Graduation Dinner

On Wednesday 27th November, the Year 6 Graduation Dinner marked a significant milestone in the lives of our graduating students. The evening began with a formal service that celebrated the culmination of their primary school journey. The ceremony was filled with joy and excitement, reflecting on the students' achievements, personal growth, and the friendships they have built along the way. Heartfelt speeches, inspiring words from teachers, an exuberant rendition of “We’re all in this together” by Year 6 and a slideshow of kindergarten snapshots, brought tears to many eyes while highlighting the unique spirit of Class of 2024.

Following the service, the celebration transitioned to the graduation dinner, which was nothing short of electric. The energy in the room was contagious as students danced with enthusiasm, capturing unforgettable moments in a fun photo booth and enjoying the excitement of crazy or elegant poses with friends. The joyful atmosphere was complemented by a delicious dinner, with the candy bar a stand-out to remember this special occasion.

Congratulations, Year 6 Class of 2024! You have left an indelible mark on our school community, and we are so proud of you.

Below is a sneak peek of the evening. Complete photo gallery will be sent to Year 6 (Class of 2024) in coming weeks. Thank you for your patience.

Supporting your child with assessment results

Supporting your child with assessment results

As we approach the end of term, your child will be receiving many assessment results. Navigating these can be a challenge for parents from the excitement and disappointment of results to the competition between siblings.

Jenny Anderson from the New York Times has penned an interesting article that can help support parents and families through the high’s and low’s of receiving results and gives practical advice to celebrate your child’s achievement that go beyond an assessment grade.

What to say and not to say when exam results roll in?
