From our Head of Junior School

Thank You from Junior School

Thank You from Junior School

The end of the school year is a time where my view moves from where we have come from to where we are going. I look back and am thankful for all the things that have happened this year. I look around with sadness for the students and staff that we are saying goodbye to. I look forward with excitement to a break from the busyness of school and the new year. Finally, I look up with gratitude to God for the way that He has blessed the school.

I am thankful for so many things in the Junior School. I am especially thankful for the amazing staff in the Junior School who are dedicated to helping every student learn and grow and to providing them with so many opportunities and experiences this year.

These include:

  • Excursions and incursions
  • The external events that students participated in such as:
    • Wakakirri Dance
    • IPSHA Performing Arts Day
    • TASC Choir event
    • Da Vinci and other extension opportunities
    • Hillszone sport
  • Our focus on celebrating learning at our:
    • Once a term Celebration of Learning Assemblies
    • Celebration of Reading
    • Celebration of Dance and Celebration of Music events
  • Welcoming parents and carers in the life of the school at events like:
    • Assemblies where students present their learning
    • Chapels where students lead signing and pray
    • Harmony Day
    • Celebration events
    • Music ensemble showcase
    • Mother’s and Father’s Day breakfasts (thank you P&F)
    • Activities where parent volunteers help us, for example, excursions, reading and library books
    • Swimming, cross country and K-2 fun run, athletic carnivals
    • Year 6 Science Fair

There are so many more events that I haven’t mentioned. Perhaps more importantly, are the quiet conversations, the encouraging words and the joyful relationships in every classroom that I am thankful for.

As I look toward 2026, I am excited about Mrs de Kock, Mr Tapner and Mr Rivers joining the teaching team, and Mrs Arthur taking the Stage 2 and Stage 3 choirs. Teachers have started planning for their new classes and I am excited about how we continue to strengthen the learning that takes place in the Junior School.

Dr Kaye Chalwell, Head of Junior School

Important dates for 2026

Important dates for 2026

I will send an email with important details for 2026 but want to mention a few here:

  • Starting next year, students will be meeting together at the beginning of the school day from 8:55am. Kindergarten already does this, and we are extending this across the school. Please note that the car drop off will still operate until 9:00am.
  • On the 29th and 30th of January, Kindergarten to Year 6 students will meet their teachers in one-to-one meetings. We will be sending instructions for booking these meetings before the end of the year.

As we approach the Christmas season, may the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

From our Head of Senior School

Thank You from Senior School

Thank You from Senior School

As we approach Christmas and the close of another inspiring year at Rouse Hill Anglican College, I want to take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary journey we have shared. This year has been marked by growth, resilience, kindness, and the deep sense of community that makes RHAC such a special place to learn and to serve.

Presentation Day offered a wonderful opportunity to pause and recognise the achievements of our students across all areas of College life. Our award recipients demonstrated not only academic excellence, but dedication, perseverance, creativity, and a commitment to using their gifts to serve others. We congratulate each student who stepped onto the stage—your hard work, humility, and character embody the values we cherish at RHAC. To all families who celebrated with us, and those who connected with us from afar, thank you for your unwavering support and partnership throughout the year. To all of our students who were not formally recognised; your achievements, growth and application are not unnoticed and will reap rewards in the years to come.

As we look back on 2025, we give thanks for the countless moments—big and small—that have shaped our community. From classrooms alive with curiosity, to extra-curricular achievements, service initiatives, peer support, leadership programs, pastoral care, and our shared celebrations, this year has showcased the strength that comes when a community works together with purpose and compassion.

In this Advent season, we remember the heart of Christmas— “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” ( John 1:5). . The birth of Jesus brings hope, peace, and joy that continue to guide our steps as a community grounded in faith. It is my prayer that each of our students and families experiences rest, renewal, and God’s comforting presence during the holidays.

On behalf of the Senior School team, thank you for your partnership, encouragement, trust, and care throughout 2025 . We are grateful for the privilege of walking alongside your children as they grow in wisdom, maturity, and confidence. May this Christmas remind us of God’s immeasurable love and of the gifts He has blessed each of us with—gifts we are called to use to build one another up.

Wishing every family a safe, joyful, and hope-filled Christmas, and a refreshing break. We look forward to welcoming you back in the new year for all that 2026 will bring.

Mrs Leisa Bromley, Deputy Principal & Head of Senior School

From the Scriptures

Good news of great joy for all people

Good news of great joy for all people

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

Luke 2:10-11

The festive season is well and truly upon us! Christmas lights are appearing, the shopping centres are ringing with carols and sparkling with Christmas decorations, and Christmas end-of-year celebrations are in full swing. There’s such a sense of joy that comes with this season and it’s one of my favourite times of the year! This week, as we celebrated our final Junior School chapel and completed our “Christmas in 4 words” series, we thought about how Christmas is …JOYFUL.

The Bible reveals the reason Christmas is truly joyful – and it’s a joy that lasts even when the Christmas lights have been switched off, the gifts have been unwrapped and the Christmas lunches are over! It’s a joy that came from the most unexpected place – the quiet birth of a small baby in a stable over 2,000 years ago. On the night Jesus was born, shepherds were out in the fields nearby, tending their flocks. All of a sudden, an angel appeared to them, saying “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. ( Luke 2:10-11) . To these humble shepherds, the angel proclaimed the most remarkably joyful news – that Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah and Rescuer, had finally been born. The angel tells the shepherds that this good news will cause great joy for ALL people, and the news of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem truly is news of great joy for all people.  This birth of Jesus was so significant that it was announced by an angel because in Him, the Lord Jesus, we see God’s promised rescue plan to provide a way for all people to put their trust in Him and have peace with God and with one another.

As we have journeyed together through 2025, I pray it has been a year of great growth and learning for all our RHAC families. As the holiday break approaches, may God grant us rest and refreshment. As we celebrate Christmas, may we know the true and lasting joy of Christmas found in God’s gift of grace- the Lord Jesus.

If you would like to investigate this gift of grace in Jesus, there are many churches in our local area who would love to welcome you this Christmas season. Below are a few websites of some local Anglican churches and you would be most welcome to visit.

  • Life Anglican Church
  • Kellyville Anglican
  • Rouse Hill Anglican Church

Thanks be to God for His promised , awaited , essential and joyful gift of that very first Christmas.

Joy to the world; the Lord is come;

Let earth receive her King

Let every heart, prepare Him room

And heaven and nature sing!

Mrs Karin Stace, Junior School Christian Education Leader

Hello from Vietnam - Global Education Service Trip

Hello from Vietnam - Global Education Service Trip

All the students and staff are having an amazing time on the Vietnam service trip so far. Arriving in Hanoi, we did a cyclos (rickshaw) tour of the streets of Hanoi before trying some of the local cuisine. On our second day, we left Hanoi to start our community service work with the Humanitarian Services for Children of Vietnam. We went to a local school where we were greeted warmly.  The students engaged in several icebreaker games, some reciprocal language learning activities and a bridge building STEM challenge (which Mrs Bolitho got to judge the winner)! Many friendship bonds were formed and the local students loved having us there.

Today, we returned to the communities and began assisting with building a new toilet/washroom for a local family plus helping with work on the community centre and grounds improvement. We will be returning tomorrow to continue our service within the community before returning to Hanoi later in the week. Everyone is enjoying being immersed in the Vietnamese culture and being able to try the different types of food too.

National victory for the Rouse Hill Newtons at G.A.T.EWays Challenge Competition

Congratulations to The Rouse Hill Newtons for achieving 1st place in Australia at the G.A.T.EWays Challenge competition!

Stage 3 students Andrew G, Elyas H, Hritvik L and Methuki W's outstanding performance, creativity, and teamwork have set a new benchmark for excellence. This remarkable achievement reflects their dedication, problem-solving skills, and passion for learning. We are so proud of their hard work and the way they represented our school on a national stage.
Well done, Newtons—you’ve inspired us all!

Year 6 Graduation Dinner

Year 6 Graduation Dinner

On Thursday 27th November, we held the Year 6 Graduation Dinner in the College auditorium. Students enjoyed a memorable celebratory dinner and graduation ceremony, marking their final weeks of Junior School with friends, teachers, and families. It was a night filled with laughter, reflection, and excitement as they marked the end of one chapter and looked ahead to the opportunities of Senior School.

A full photo gallery will be provided to families by Dr Cathy Tikoft in due course.

Year 3’s eco-friendly gingerbread creation!

Year 3’s eco-friendly gingerbread creation!

Year 3 embraced the concept of the circular economy to rethink the rubbish we create. Instead of throwing things away, we gave them a new purpose! Chip packets became shiny tiles, lunch order bags transformed into fluffy snow, yogurt lids turned into colourful lollies for window decorations, and foil from wrapped lunches sparkled as lights.

Together, we used these recycled materials to design and decorate our very own gingerbread house masterpiece for the Tallawong Village display. Please support our students and see their display the next time you are at the Village.

Family Support Meals

Family Support Meals

From time to time, fellow families at the College are hit by unforeseen stresses (physical, emotional, financial, etc.). The RHAC P&F, through your support, facilitates a way for those families to access quality meals in their time of need to simply ease a bit of the pain during difficult times.

You can help by donating a store-bought meal , or by donating as little as $10.00 by clicking the TryBooking link below which would be greatly appreciated. If you can provide a store-bought meal for the freezer, slices/banana breads / muffins (lunch box fillers) and desserts are also most welcome and may be dropped off with Mrs Sharon D’Agostino at the College main reception.

End-of-year message

End-of-year message

As we wrap up another whirlwind year at our wonderful school, I want to extend a huge congratulations to Mr Hartley, Mrs Bromley and Dr Chalwell for the outstanding Junior and Senior School Presentation events. Both were an absolute delight to attend. These were beautifully run, joy-filled and just the right mix of celebration and pride.

After the Junior School presentation yesterday, I spoke with a fellow parent who told me she recently attended a Hillzone event with her daughter. She looked around and realised not many parents from any other school had shown up. But every RHAC child had a parent there. She said she felt proud to be part of this community because here, showing up is something we just do instinctively… it’s practically our love language. We show up. Always.

When care becomes action, it creates ripples. A small gesture - showing up, saying hello, offering kindness - can ripple outward in ways we may never fully see. These little ripples shape our culture, lift our spirits and make our community feel like home.

To our entire school community: thank you . Thank you for your support, your energy and your enthusiasm. The P&F thrives because of YOU - your generosity, your humour and your willingness to pitch in, whether it’s for fundraisers, events or simply cheering from the sidelines.

It’s been a truly wonderful year. I’m so grateful for everything we’ve achieved together and even more grateful that we survived it with smiles and good stories.

As we head into the holidays, I wish each and every one of you a very merry Christmas and a happy, restful, and joy-filled New Year . May your days be bright, your travels smooth, your gatherings warm and may your batteries (literal and metaphorical) stay fully charged.

Enjoy the break, savour the time with loved ones and we’ll see you in the new year, refreshed and ready for the adventure ahead. 2026 is going to be BIG!
