Celebrating the Class of 2026

Celebrating the Class of 2026

There are some weeks in a school year that seem to arrive almost before we are ready for them. Graduation week is certainly one of those.

It is hard to believe that our Year 12 students have reached this moment. It seems only yesterday that they were beginning their journey through Senior School, finding their way around new classrooms, navigating new friendships and teachers, discovering their strengths and starting to form the adult that we see today.

And now, here we are, at this pivotal time in their lives.

This week has been a beautiful celebration of the Class of 2026. From the laughter and memories shared throughout the week at ‘Fun Day’, to the formalities of the Valedictory service, there has been a wonderful sense of both celebration and reflection. These events mark an ending, but they also remind us that education is never simply about reaching the end of a school year. As our College Captains Amelie Correa and Zane Shields reflected in their final speeches, it is about the people we become along the way.

As I have engaged with our Year 12 students this year, I am struck by how much they have grown. Not simply academically, but in confidence, resilience, independence, kindness and courage. They have experienced successes and disappointments, challenges and celebrations, and countless ordinary school days that, together, have shaped who they are as individuals.

To our RHAC parents and families, thank you for the countless early mornings, late nights, lifts, meals, encouragement, conversations, prayers and sacrifices that have supported your children throughout their schooling. Your partnership has been a gift to us. Graduation is a significant milestone for students, but it is also a moment for parents to pause and reflect on the extraordinary passage of time. You have watched your children grow from little people into young adults, and you should be incredibly proud of the way in which they have embodied the model of Christ in their words and actions.

To our wonderful teachers and College staff, thank you for the investment you have made in these young people. Behind every student who crosses the graduation stage, is a long line of teachers who have encouraged, challenged, corrected, supported and believed in them. Thank you for seeing the potential in our students and for understanding that your influence reaches far beyond the classroom.

And to the Class of 2026: as you leave us, I hope you carry with you more than your academic achievements. Take with you the friendships, the memories, the lessons, the mistakes that taught you something, the teachers who encouraged you, and the experiences that helped you discover who you are. We will pray for you as you undertake your final exams in October.

Most importantly, remember that you do not need to have your whole future mapped out today. There will be unexpected turns, new opportunities and moments when the path ahead is not entirely clear. Walk forward with courage, humility and faith.

The words of Jeremiah 29:11 offer a wonderful encouragement for this next season: ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’.

As you step beyond the familiar world of RHAC, may you trust that your future is held by a God who knows you, loves you and goes before you.

To our wider community, we wish you a safe and restful Spring break. We look forward to welcoming you back for a wonderful Term 4.

Mrs Leisa Bromley, Acting Principal

From the Scriptures

Wonderful and Controversial: Jesus and the Paralytic

Wonderful and Controversial: Jesus and the Paralytic

"Which is easier: to say to this paralysed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’?"

Mark 2:9

This week in chapel, students looked at one of the most vivid scenes in Mark's Gospel. Jesus is teaching in a crowded house in Capernaum, so crowded that four friends, unable to get their paralysed mate through the door, dig through the roof and lower him down on his mat, right in front of Jesus.

It's a wonderful moment. The friends' determination, the drama of the roof tiles falling, the crowd's astonishment, this is Jesus at his most compelling. He sees their faith and heals the man. Everyone loves this part of the story.

But then Mark shows us why Jesus was also seriously controversial. Before healing the man's legs, Jesus says something far more startling: "Son, your sins are forgiven." The religious teachers in the room are appalled, not because it's a strange thing to say, but because they understand exactly what he's claiming. Only God can forgive sins. By speaking those words, Jesus is placing himself in God's seat.

Jesus doesn't back down. He asks which is easier, to forgive sins or to heal a paralysed man, and then heals the man precisely to prove he has the authority to do both. The miracle isn't just a kind act; it's evidence for an audacious claim about who Jesus is.

This is worth sitting with as families. It's easy to like a Jesus who does wonderful things, who heals, comforts, and includes people others overlook. It's harder to reckon with a Jesus who claims the authority to forgive sins, because that same Jesus asks something of us: not just admiration, but trust and allegiance.

The paralysed man came for physical healing and received something greater, forgiveness. Jesus met the need his friends could see, and then addressed the deeper need they couldn't. That's still true today. The same Jesus who cares about what's visibly broken in our lives also offers to deal with what isn't visible at all.

A question for the family dinner table:What do you find most wonderful about Jesus? Is there anything about him you find hard to accept?

Holidays, Reading and the Joy of a Good Book

Holidays, Reading and the Joy of a Good Book

I have always loved reading. But at the beginning of the year, as I reflected on my reading in 2025, I realised that I had lost the routine of reading. Life was busy, there was always another task to complete, and reading for pleasure had slowly slipped down the priority list.

Determined to change that, I set myself a goal to set aside time every evening to read a novel. I am pleased that I have been successful in this goal. I started the year reading some old favourite classics and then moved to some more contemporary fiction. As I talked with others about my reading, people started sharing their books with me. I am currently reading a book that was lent to me by one of the teachers in Junior School. I am looking forward to the slower pace of the next few weeks where there might be time to sneak a few more pages into my day.

Recently, I asked our students to tell me about the books they love and their favourite places to read. Their responses were a wonderful reminder that reading can happen anywhere and that every child can find a book that captures their interest. The students I spoke to were excited to share their favourite books such as Keeper of the Lost Cities, Percy Jackson, The Babysitters Club, Funny Fairytale Stories and Roald Dahl books especially Fantastic Mr Fox and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They described reading at school, on the couch or beanbag, in the library, in their room, at bedtime and in the morning. One student even described a shelf in her room where she likes to read.

As well as helping children develop their vocabulary, comprehension and knowledge of the world around them, reading is a joyful and entertaining pastime. Books help children develop empathy by seeing the world through another person's eyes. They nurture imagination, curiosity and creativity. They provide opportunities to laugh, wonder and dream. Reading can also offer a welcome opportunity to slow down, relax and enjoy some quiet moments both during the school term and in the holidays.

When parents read with their children, they give them the opportunity to hear stories that might be a little too hard for them to read on their own. It also provides a time for discussing characters and ideas from the story. Some children like to return to the same stories. This can help them develop their reading fluency and sense of reading success. Others like to read book series, or experiment with new genres.

The holidays are an ideal time for children to rediscover the joy of reading without the pressure of school tasks or deadlines. Whether it is a chapter book enjoyed before bed, a graphic novel on the couch, a magazine in the backyard or an audiobook during a family road trip, every reading experience counts. We can encourage our children to read by themselves, to read aloud to us, and we can read aloud to them. I encourage every family to make space for reading. A visit to the local library, a trip to a bookshop, or simply setting aside a few quiet minutes each day with a book can make a lasting difference. More importantly, it helps build a lifelong habit that opens doors to learning, imagination and enjoyment

The greatest gift we can give our children is not simply the ability to read, but a love of reading. When children discover books they genuinely enjoy, they gain companions, adventures and opportunities for learning that can stay with them for a lifetime.

Traffic Safety on Worcester Rd

Please remember that parents should not park on Worcester Rd, even if they are waiting in the car. Staff have observed that some parents park in a no stopping zone and wait in the car for their child in the afternoon. This is unsafe.

  • Junior School parents should pick their child up by entering through gate 5, as per our standard procedures.
  • Senior School parents can pick up their child by entering in gate 1.

Student Attendances when Unwell

Student Attendances when Unwell

There has been a recent increase in cases of respiratory illnesses in the community. If your child is unwell in any way, please do not send them to school.

We appreciate the importance of completing assessments and exams; however, students who are unwell are unlikely to perform at their best and may also risk exposing others to illness.

Please note that if your child arrives at school and their teacher is concerned that they are unwell, they will be sent to Sick Bay and parents will be contacted to collect them. This does, however, place additional pressure on the school’s medical resources, which are intended to support sickness and injuries that occur during the school day, rather than illnesses that were present before the child attended school.

For this reason, we ask that unwell students remain at home until they have recovered and do not attend school for assessments or exams and then get collected.

A reminder that students should not be sent to school with any of the following symptoms:

  • Vomiting: Students cannot attend within 24 hours of their last episode of vomiting.
  • Fever above 38°C: Students cannot attend within 24 hours of their last fever.
  • Significant coughing
  • Excessive nose blowing

Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep our community as healthy as possible.

  • Going forward parents will be notified by SMS if their child suffers a minor bump to the head.
  • Please note that this change is ONLY for minor head injuries.
  • Should there be any change to a student’s condition throughout the remainder of the school day a phone call will be made to a parent.

Afternoon Bus 2640 – Priority Boarding

Afternoon Bus 2640 – Priority Boarding

We are aware of ongoing issues with the afternoon 2640 bus and are working with the bus company to address them.

A particular issue is the number of students boarding the bus at school, as the service also stops at Rouse Hill Town Centre. There are two other bus services available within 10 minutes of the 2640 that students travelling only to Rouse Hill Town Centre can use.

From Monday, students who have a School Opal card and need to travel beyond Rouse Hill Town Centre will be able to access a School Priority Pass.

Students who require a Priority Pass should report to Student Reception so we can confirm their eligibility. Once issued, it is the student's responsibility to present the pass to the teacher on duty when boarding the bus.

Priority students will board first. Once they have boarded, the remaining spaces will be available to students travelling to Rouse Hill Town Centre. If the bus reaches capacity, no further students will be able to board.

We hope this arrangement will make the afternoon boarding process clearer and, most importantly, help ensure that students who rely on the 2640 to travel beyond Rouse Hill Town Centre can get home safely.

Thank you for your understanding and support while we work through this with the bus company.

Junior School Afternoon car pick up

Junior School Afternoon car pick up

Unfortunately, some parents have been driving up the driveway too early to pick up their children. This is particularly stressful for Pre-K parents who have to park and pick up their children at 3:00pm.

Please note the following times for car pick-up:

  • Pre-K parents can drive up the Gate 5 driveway and pick up their children from 2:50pm.
  • K-2 parents can drive up the Gate 5 driveway and wait for directions from staff from 3:15pm.
  • K-6 parents can drive up the Gate 5 driveway and wait for directions from staff from 3:25pm.

Please do not drive up the driveway before your designated time as this holds up the traffic for other parents.

  • Pre-K parents from 2:50pm
  • K-2 parents from 3:15pm

Enrolment in 2027

Enrolment in 2027

RHAC staff value our students and hope that all students will stay with us until they finish Year 12. However, I appreciate that some of our parents choose to move their child to another school each year for a range of reasons. Please remember that the school requires a full term of notice of an enrolment withdrawal, or an additional term of fees will be charged. Therefore, if parents are intending to send their son or daughter to another school next year, the last day they can notify the school without being charged the additional fee is the last day of this term (Friday 25 September). However, it would help our school if you could advise the school earlier than this so that we will have more time to find another student to fill the space.

HSC Music ENCORE Nomination

HSC Music ENCORE Nomination

Congratulations to Conor on his nomination for ENCORE, the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) showcase of outstanding HSC Music works.

Conor was nominated for his HSC Music performance on drums, recognising the high standard of his performance as part of the HSC Music practical examinations. ENCORE showcases a selection of outstanding HSC Music performances, compositions and musicology works from students across NSW.

This nomination is a wonderful recognition of Conor’s musicianship, dedication and commitment to his musical studies throughout Year 12. We congratulate Conor on this significant achievement and wish him all the best as the ENCORE selection process progresses.

HSC Industrial Technology Timber SHAPE Nomination

HSC Industrial Technology Timber SHAPE Nomination

Congratulations to Finn Horton, Year 12 Industrial Technology Timber student, on his nomination for the prestigious SHAPE exhibition, which recognises outstanding HSC Major Projects from students across NSW.

Finn’s nominated Major Project is a contemporary wine cabinet that combines traditional Australian craftsmanship with modern, minimal design. The cabinet has been constructed using 180-year-old recycled Australian Ironbark and Blackbutt, sourced from the historic Rockleigh Estate in Croydon. Through sweeping curves, traditional joinery and natural timber features, Finn has created a practical piece that celebrates the history, character and imperfections of the recycled timber while incorporating contemporary furniture design.

Finn’s project reflects his strong technical skills, creativity and attention to detail, developed throughout the design and construction process. We also acknowledge the guidance and support of Mr New, who worked closely with Finn throughout the development of his Major Project.

We congratulate Finn on this significant recognition and wish him all the best in the final SHAPE selection process.

NSW CIS Athletics

We had 20 students represent the College and AICES at the NSW CIS Secondary Athletics Championships on Tuesday, competing against some of the state's finest school-aged athletes. Despite cold and overcast conditions throughout the day, our students rose to the occasion, producing a number of outstanding performances, personal bests, and podium finishes.

Qualifying for the NSW CIS Championships is a significant achievement and represents the highest level of the school athletics pathway. We congratulate all students who earned the opportunity to compete and commend them on their dedication, commitment, and efforts throughout the athletics season.

A special acknowledgement goes to the following students who achieved top-three finishes on the day:

Both our boys' and girls' teams performed strongly against quality opposition, finishing 7th overall in their respective divisions. More importantly, each student represented the College with pride, demonstrating resilience, teamwork and a positive attitude both on and off the court.

Nationally Consistent Collection Of Data On School Students With Disability (NCCD)

Nationally Consistent Collection Of Data On School Students With Disability (NCCD)

Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines (2019).

Information provided about students to the Australian Government for the NCCD includes:

  • Year of schooling
  • Category of disability: physical, cognitive, sensory, or social/emotional
  • Level of adjustment provided: support provided within quality differentiated teaching practice, supplementary, substantial, or extensive.

This information assists schools to:

  • Formally recognise the supports and adjustments provided to students with disability in schools
  • Consider how they can strengthen the support of students with disability in schools
  • Develop shared practices so that they can review their learning programs in order to improve educational outcomes for students with disability.

The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability.

The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child, and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The College will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified - the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage, and disclosure of personal information. To find out more about these matters, please refer to the Australian Government's Privacy Policy

Further information about the NCCD can be found on the NCCD Portal.

If you have any questions about the NCCD, please contact the College.

Early Stage 1 Uniform Update for 2027

Early Stage 1 Uniform Update for 2027

To support our youngest students, the College will be extending the current Pre-K uniform into Kindergarten from 2027. This means that all students in Early Stage 1 will wear the same uniform, creating a simple and consistent approach across Pre-K and Kindergarten.

We have made this decision with our youngest students in mind, as the Pre-K uniform is easier for little hands to manage and is well suited to the needs of our Early Stage 1 students.

Pre-K Uniform

Please see the uniform details below:

  • Students wear a version of the College sports uniform to school each day. In Terms 1 and 4, students wear the Summer Pre-K uniform (shorts or skorts). In Terms 2 and 3, students wear the Winter Pre-K uniform (tracksuit pants and jacket), along with the Pre-K bucket hat. Students should not wear long‑sleeved shirts underneath their Pre‑K sports shirt. However, for additional warmth, they may wear the RHAC Pre-K long‑sleeved shirt, which is available from the uniform shop.
  • White RHAC branded socks.
  • Sports shoes (Velcro, not lace up).

As students move into Kindergarten in 2027, parents will also need to purchase a House shirt to add to their child’s uniform. We hope this change will make getting ready for school each day a little simpler for our youngest students and their families.

Todd Woodbridge Cup

On Monday, 16 students from Years 3 to 6 proudly represented the College at the Todd Woodbridge Cup held at Pennant Hills Tennis Club. This event gave students the opportunity to develop their skills and experience the fun of competition in a supportive environment.

Throughout the day, students put their hand-eye coordination, teamwork and resilience to the test in their games. They showed fantastic determination on the court, rallying with energy and enthusiasm against students from other schools.

Congratulations to our Stage 2 team who finished in 2nd place and our Stage 3 team finishing in 7th.

A special mention to students who were selected for great sportsmanship on the day: Emily G, Kabir A, Joshua M and Aarohi P.

Year 4 Overnight Camp

Year 4 Overnight Camp

On Thursday and Friday of Week 8, our Year 4 students travelled to CRU Galston Gorge Camp & Conference Centre for a two day overnight camp. For many students, this was their first experience staying away from home overnight, and the children rose to the occasion beautifully, embracing every opportunity with enthusiasm and positivity.

Over the two days, students enjoyed a fun filled and action packed program that included archery, orienteering, bushwalking, bike riding, damper making and high ropes activities. They also participated in Christian Discovery sessions, where they explored the Bible and engaged with its stories in meaningful ways. There was also plenty of delicious food enjoyed throughout the camp.

Throughout the camp, the students were exceptionally well behaved and demonstrated our College values of care, courage and character in abundance. It was a pleasure to take this wonderful cohort away, and we are confident that the memories and experiences gained over these two days will be treasured for years to come.

Year 4 Art Gallery Excursion

Year 4 Art Gallery Excursion

This week, our Year 4 students visited the Art Gallery of NSW, where they participated in the Big Art Day Fantastical Beings program.

The students had the opportunity to view Avatar: Forms of Vishnu, an exhibition exclusive to Sydney featuring nearly 200 exceptional works spanning fifteen centuries of South and Southeast Asian art and storytelling. It is the first major exhibition in Australia dedicated to Vishnu. Students completed workbook activities exploring the exhibition and learning more about the artworks on display.

The students also responded to other artworks and sculptures throughout the Gallery through a variety of drawing and creative activities inspired by fantastical beings.

It was a wonderful day of learning and creativity, and the students thoroughly enjoyed their experiences. They represented our College exceptionally well throughout the excursion.

Year 3 - Day Camp | CRU Galston Gorge Experience

On Wednesday, 9 September 2026, our Year 3 students enjoyed an exciting day at CRU Galston Gorge Camp & Conference Centre. Throughout the day, students participated in a range of organised activities, including kite making, guided bushwalking and rope climbing. They also had the opportunity to learn more about God through engaging sessions led by the CRU team.

Blessed with beautiful weather, the students embraced every activity with enthusiasm and teamwork, making it a fun and memorable experience for all. The day provided a wonderful introduction to the camp environment and has certainly fuelled anticipation and excitement for the overnight camp experience in Year 4.

Year 6 Students Excel at GATEway8

Year 6 Students Excel at GATEway8

Congratulations to our Year 6 students who represented the College at GATEway8 this week, an interschool academic challenge hosted annually by Macarthur for students from Independent schools across Sydney.

Our Year 6 team achieved an impressive third place overall, including first place in Mathematics and second place in Humanities.

GATEway8 is designed for high potential learners in Years 5 to 10 and challenges students across a range of disciplines and skills. The competition is structured around the eight multiple intelligences identified by Howard Gardner, including linguistic, logical mathematical, spatial, bodily kinaesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal and naturalist intelligence.

The competition provides students with opportunities to apply their knowledge, problem solve, collaborate and think creatively through a range of challenging activities.

We are proud of the way our Year 6 students represented the College and congratulate them on their outstanding achievements.
